Our AI and Other STEM Workshops

Purpose: To introduce and deepen understanding of AI and other STEM fields.

Why: STEM, particularly AI, is a rapidly growing field with numerous opportunities. Our workshops provide hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and concepts, fostering curiosity and competence. By exposing participants to various STEM disciplines, we spark interest and prepare them for advanced studies and careers in these areas.

Introduction to AI: Unleashing the Power of Artificial Intelligence:

  • This workshop is designed to introduce Black youth to the fundamentals of artificial intelligence. This workshop will cover the basics of AI, its applications, and its impact on various industries. Through hands-on activities and interactive discussions, participants will gain a foundational understanding of AI and its potential to transform the future.

  • By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

    • Discus the basic concepts and principles of artificial intelligence.

    • Learn about the different applications of AI in various industries.

    • Develop critical thinking skills to analyze the impact of AI on society.

    • Engage in hands-on activities to experience AI technologies firsthand.

    • Explore potential career paths in AI and related fields.

Building Future STEM Innovators:

  • This workshop aims to inspire and equip youth with the skills and knowledge to pursue careers in STEM fields. This workshop will provide an overview of the various STEM disciplines, highlight career opportunities, and offer practical exercises to develop problem-solving and innovation skills.

Embracing AI - Shaping the Future of the Black Community:

  • This workshop is designed to introduce Black youth to the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can be harnessed to benefit their communities. This workshop will explore the fundamentals of AI, its applications, and the opportunities it presents for innovation and leadership. Participants will learn how to engage with AI technologies and consider pursuing further studies and careers in this dynamic field.

  • By the end of this workshop participants will be able to:

    • understand what AI is, how it works, and its various applications in different industries.

    • Discus the positive impacts of AI on society, particularly within the Black community, including opportunities for economic growth, improved healthcare, and enhanced education.

    • Develop hands-on experience with basic AI tools and technologies, such as machine learning models and data analysis software.

    • Explore the diverse career opportunities available in the AI field and understand the educational pathways to pursue them.

    • Learn how to leverage AI for community projects and initiatives, fostering a sense of leadership and innovation.
