AI Unmasked: The Fine Line Between Automation and True Intelligence
I am truly conflicted with what is and what is perceived to be #intelligence.
Is automation the same as intelligence? Is a workflow process the same as intelligence?
In layperson terms, #AI is:
1) The ability to search several published articles at a speed greater than human can accomplish, meaning that if the data does not exist, then it can’t possibly return an answer. I chose not to say “create” or “generate”.
2) The ability to take questions from human in our natural language, contextually understand the question, search for matching answers, and suggest possible answers to the question posed. An ethical tool will add disclaimers to the answers provided in the same way that we, as humans, must provide evidence through citations, bibliographies, quotations, etc.
So, where does #GenerativeAI come in? I see a lot of very comic looking images that are created using AI tools. Not good!
I remember disliking the arrival and exponential growth of #realityTV as a cheap production option to making good #drama. And, thanks to #Netflix for restoring some balance here.
And, as with the #realityTV issue, I am contending with #AI as a ‘creator’ of #Art, or #GenerativeAI as a tool for creativity and graphic design. I accept that my concern and argument may be too early in the game with regard the ability for AI tools to be more accurate, which of course, is fully dependent on data collected, inclusive algorithm designs, and quality testing.
As with every new exciting technology, the evolution continues. My eyes are on #GenerativeAI.
